Under the patronage of the Dean of our College (College of Archeology – University of Kufa) Dr. Alaa Hussein Jassim Al-Lami and the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs Dr. Amal Ajil Ibrahim, the Department of Archeology in our college held a workshop entitled (Structural terraces on building engineering in ziggurat and their chronological age) on Tuesday, 7/5/2021 via Zoom platform, lectured Dr. Mona Abdul Karim Al-Qaisi, a lecturer at the Department of Archeology. The ziggurat building is one of the most important signs of religious architecture in the centers of the ancient Iraqi cities, whose architecture witnessed a lot of engineering treatments in light of the history of engineering developments and in a sequential manner, starting with the construction of a solid structural terrace that serves as the foundations for the building of temples until the number of terraces built to take the ziggurat its authentic Iraqi architectural identity in its runway form.
