Under the patronage of the Dean of our College (College of Archeology – University of Kufa) Dr. Alaa Hussein Jassim Al-Lami and the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs Dr. Amal Ajil Ibrahim, the Department of Islamic Archeology in our college held a workshop entitled (Coins, an archaeological document for the study of pre-Islamic art forms) on Tuesday 4/5/ 2021 via the Zoom platform, in which Dr. Hamid Mustafa Al-Yasiri, a lecturer in the Department of Islamic Archeology, lectured islamic coins are a historical archaeological document in the study of the entire political and social life of the Arabs before Islam, especially the northern or southern Arab kingdoms, because they contain two important matters, the first of which: its importance in Accurately documenting the event and referring to it in the setting and comparison of dates and names of kings and rulers, and second: studying the different artistic styles of geometric shapes, decorations, writings, lines, or slogans, and forms of clothing and fashion for both men and women, and the status of each of them, and other arts that throw Light on the status of people and the extent of their political and cultural influence in the Arab before Islam.
