The Faculty of Archeology / University of Kufa in cooperation with the Faculty of Urban Planning under the supervision of the Department of Ancient Antiquities on 26/2/2019 organized a workshop entitled (Urban expansion and archaeological sites and ways to find positive solutions to preserve the cultural heritage). The lectures were given by Dr. Fatima Al-Maamouri, Dr. Nasir Al-Basri, teachers Ali Kanoun and Ahmad Al-Khafaji. The workshop was attended by a number of teachers and students of the two colleges and the delegation of the Faculty of Archeology / University of Samarra Headed by Dr. Ammar Al-Baldawi and the students accompanying him. The workshop addressed the urban expansion and its causes and the extent of its conflict with sites of archeological and the put of solutions, Which is represented by raising awareness of the importance of archaeological sites and heritage and depth of intellectual and humanitarian in the community and to find appropriate scientific solutions and the definition of the Law of Antiquities No. 55 of 2002 and its importance. the recommendations of the workshop are conversion it into a scientific symposium on this subject.
