A workshop entitled archaeological excavations in the ancient city sites during the ancient Sumerian (Alwraka)

Within a program  project (Waladu) to develop the curricula of antiquities in Iraq, held the Department of ancient Antiquities of the  Iraqi  Archeology Faculty / University of Kufa on Wednesday 11/4/2018 and in the presence of professors and students of our college  a workshop entitled (archaeological excavations in the ancient city sites during the ancient Sumerian (ALWarka)) under the supervision of Dr. Mona Abdul Karim teaching in the Department of Antiquities of the old Iraqi in our college,The workshop dealt with the definition of the city of Al Warka, which is one of the important cities in ancient Iraq Where The first excavation work was performed  in Al Warka city  in 1849 by the English Geologist (Lofts Colvay),The results of the excavations attracted the attention of the prospectors (the Germans led by Colvai) and continued until the Second World War to entering  the excavation work of its scientific field and continued the excavation work for a number of seasons to reach (39) season until 2001-2002m.
